2021 Event Schedule Announced

Published on 2/13/2021

The Executive Board has put together a great schedule of events for 2021!

The season will kick off with our spring general membership meeting/luncheon in April at Pirates Cove in Galesville. Our first sailing event is scheduled for late May with a focus on welcoming all new CB2 members. There will be a fantastic Fourth of July celebration in Rock Hall. Fireworks are planned for July 3rd and there will be a cookout on the 4th. Please make your reservations at Haven Harbor North as soon as possible. Another event that is sure to attract many boats is the annual Commodore’s Crab Fest in August. This year it is being held at Lankford Bay Marina. Again, if you want a slip; please make a reservation as soon as possible with the marina. Be sure to check the CB2 home page for the complete schedule.

The annual BOLD trip is going to cover the DELMARVA loop. Starting on June 10th, the fleet will head north from Annapolis. The itinerary includes stops at Summit North Marina (on the C+D Canal), Cape May, Cape Charles, Solomons and Herrington Harbor. There will be one overnight sail from Cape May to Cape Charles. Experienced Captains will lead groups of boats paired by speed capabilities for the overnight coastal journey. For anyone who hasn’t done a coastal overnight sail, this will be a great opportunity to gain experience and build confidence. The loop will make for a fantastic BOLD event! A side note, my boat is currently insured for just the Chesapeake Bay so I inquired about doing the DELMARVA loop. The insurer offered a onetime waiver to cover the trip for only $40. I can’t speak for other insurers, but hopefully that might be representative of what to expect if you are currently insured for just the bay.

I’d also like to note that the published schedule is only the basic framework for the season. I’m confident there will be added get togethers along the way!

CB2 is hoping that all past and present members will join in on many of the events planned for 2021. If you haven’t renewed your membership, or wish to reactivate your status, please visit the CB2 website and do so today!

I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the spring luncheon in April.

Cheers,

Chuck
